TEACHING

I enjoy facilitating creative writing workshops for students of all ages as well as preparing in-depth lectures on language, literature, and creativity.

I can customize the creative writing workshops according to the time allotted, number of writers, the genre, and the element of craft they're interested in. For instance: odes or sonnets for poetry, or short stories for fiction, or personal essays for non-fiction, etc. Furthermore, I can design one-off workshops or longer courses across multiple weeks.

Similarly, I can prepare 30-50 minute seminars on topics where language, literature, and creativity intersect. Some of the ones I've prepared in the past include: The Radical Healing Potential of Poetry, Kuwaiti Identity Between Arabic and English (in Arabic), Does Literature Impact the World?, and Madness or Magic: A Brief History of Poetry.

In 2022, I began my first Arabic-to-English literary translation: Lost in Mecca. I look forward to translating more books in the future and to speak about my experience.
