Nada Faris is a writer, teaching-artist, and performance poet.
Brief Bio (less than 150 words)
Nada Faris is a writer, teaching-artist, and performance poet. She is the author of three books: Fountain of Youth, a Vine Leaves Vignette Collection Awards semi-finalist (Vine Leaves Press, 2016); Mischief Diary (HBKU, 2018); and Women of Kuwait, a Lucie Photobook Award finalist in the Independent Prize category (Daylight, 2019). Her poems, essays, and short stories have appeared in: The Indianapolis Review, Nimrod, Sukoon, Norton's Anthology for Hint Fiction, and elsewhere. Faris is an Honorary Fellow in Writing at Iowa University’s International Writing Program (IWP) Fall 2013, and an alumna of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) April 2018, USA: Empowering Youth Through the Performance Arts. In 2018, she received an Arab Woman Award from Harper Bazaar Arabia in the category of Inspirational Woman for her impact on Kuwait’s creative sector.
