Today I performed “Teenzilla Montgomery”, which I had written exclusively for the second spoken word poetry competition hosted by The English School (TES). The New English School (NES) and the British School of Kuwait (BSK) participated in the competition. I then joined the judges table to evaluate poems and nominate a winner in each age group. TES won in terms of score, but the amount of talent showcased today is a win for Kuwait itself. Students from Reception all the way to Year 8 utilized the power of spoken word to express themselves and find their voices. Genuinely thrilled with this event. I hope more schools join the competition next year!
